Nameless Horses

Poetry arrives with the shrill of birds
The young girl
Says to her younger sister
“Say yes at the same time”,
Her darling starling startled.

Poetry rhymes
With the joy of
The heart, each beat
A new start.

As school empties its children
Full of spitted bliss –
This will survive – this –
This music of many voices

See the butterfly flapping in her throat?
